Storyline

What i liked:The combat scene in about the middle of the movie - it shows the inventive tactics Zizka was famous for... (pity other scenes lacked in this department and that it was pretty small in the scope)Considering it's budget, It looked much better then expected.The music - especially the usage/variations of the Hussite choral... ("Kdoz su bozi bojovnici" - "Who are the warriors of God"). A pity most foreigners will not undestand or (probably) appriciate it :-)Beautiful sets.Armor (although not historically accurate) worked like armor and not clothing - fighers were looking for uncovered parts of bodies, used polearms and blunt weapons...It wasn't woke. If it was made in USA now, 1/3 of the fighters in all fights would be girls/women and they would fight better then all the men without any training while weighting 1/2 as much... :-) - The only strange/partly woke thing was the choice of a black actor for a cuman character. Cumans were asian...What I disliked:It was more of a fantasy without magic then historical movie.They could/should have shown more of the Zizka's famous combat tactics and/or fight preparations.The "everything must be gray and covered in mud"-trope. The old Vavra's trilogy from 1950's "Jan Hus" "Jan Zizka" and "Proti vsem" was much more colourful and realistic (although it had it's downsides too - especially the comunist political agitation)Shaky cam in fight scenes - most of the time it was too hard to follow what is happening on the screen...Too little time spent on the promising side-characters.What I'm conflicted about:The script - I'm a guy from Czech Republic, where the titular Jan Zizka is arguably the greatest national hero. I don't understand why they had to make a made-up plot from time, not covered by historical records when his real achievements during the Hussite wars were much more impressive. The taste of that can be seen literally just in last few seconds of the movie... They could have done that like GOT 1st season :-)
